Bleu Chair
A large blue chair stands as a quiet testament to the art of handcrafting. It is not just furniture, but a creation that embodies the connection between the creator and nature. The chair’s form is shaped intuitively, without reliance on measurements or detailed plans. The raw wood, chosen for its natural character, guides the process with each cut made by a hand saw, the grain and texture subtly influencing the direction of the work. The seat and legs are robust, designed to offer a sense of stability.
The horns on the backrest are organic extension of the chair, as if they’ve grown from the wood itself. Carved by hand, they carry the rhythm and imperfections of the craftsman’s touch, reflecting back to the forms found in nature and the importance of symbiosis between human and nature. This chair exists as a piece of functional art, where craftsmanship and nature converge. It stands as a reminder that even in everyday objects, there is room for beauty, imperfection, and a deep connection to the materials from which they are made. Painted in a deep, rich blue which long has been associated with the connection to sadness.
One of the most deeply ideas ingrained in our cultural and psychological understanding. While it undeniably evokes sadness or the “blues” in many contexts, it also invites reflection, calm, and healing. It speaks to the complexity of human emotion, where sorrow and serenity can often coexist in the same breath.
